Organization:
The U.S. Cellular® World Food Festival is produced by Downtown Events Group (DEG). The mission of DEG, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to producing annual large-scale festivals and events in downtown Des Moines, is to effectively contribute to the favorability and vitality of downtown, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life, economic development and cultural diversity in greater Des Moines through accessible festivals and special events reflecting the vibrancy and character of the community.
DEG began in December 2004 under the umbrella of the Downtown Community Alliance and Greater Des Moines Partnership.
Investors of the DEG include City of Des Moines, Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, Polk County, Prairie Meadows, Principal Financial Group® and Ruan Center Corporation.
